Steel, drawn right.

Precision structural steel detailing in Tauranga, for commercial, residential and industrial builds across the Bay of Plenty and wider New Zealand.

Tekla Structures Accurate 3D structural & architectural steel models.
Fabrication-led A fabricator's eye for what's practical to build.
Coordinated early Clashes and discrepancies resolved before they reach fabrication.

With a background in steel fabrication and workshop management, we understand what makes a practical, easy-to-read drawing that works both in the workshop and on-site. Our focus is on clarity and accuracy.

We go beyond detailing by identifying discrepancies early and working closely with architects, engineers, project managers and fabricators. This allows us to resolve issues before they impact fabrication or installation, helping projects run smoothly from design through to completion.

More recent work.

Residential

Papamoa Beach Road

Papamoa

A challenging residential renovation involving multiple site measures to make sure all steel fitted accurately and installation ran smoothly. Much of the work had to integrate with existing timber framing, requiring careful coordination and detailing to suit the existing structure. The job was completed in carefully planned phases so steel arrived on site on time, avoiding delays to the wider build programme.

Industrial

Huntly Power Station

Huntly

Detailing of replacement sections for existing ducting that had deteriorated due to rust. The work required multiple site measures and coordination with the existing structures. Working from the original 1970s drawings — in imperial measurements — the full ducting layout was detailed to clearly identify the sections being removed and the new replacement steelwork going in.

Public

Minden Lookout

Minden

A public viewing platform that needed close coordination with the builder so the steel columns were cast into exactly the right positions. With the remaining steelwork bolted directly to those columns, accurate set-out during the concrete stage was critical for the structure to align and assemble correctly on site.

Viewing-platform steel — columns cast in, remaining steel bolted on

Pacific Lakes Pavilion

Papamoa

A large pavilion for a retirement village, with extensive coordination between structural steel and timber. Much of the steelwork connected directly to large custom timber rafters, so connections had to be carefully detailed for everything to integrate. Models from the architect and the timber manufacturer were overlaid and coordinated to confirm every component aligned — across several phases, numerous site measures and ongoing revisions.

Spring Street Car Park

Tauranga

A structural strengthening project for an existing car park, with large amounts of steelwork bolted through the existing concrete walls. Because the walls were not perfectly level or straight, every steel component was site measured and detailed individually to suit the existing conditions. With steel on both sides of the walls connected by through-bolts, accuracy was critical for everything to line up during installation.

Structural strengthening — steel through-bolted to existing concrete walls
